About Us

Mexico Pacific is developing the Saguaro Energia LNG Facility and the associated Sierra Madre Pipeline. These developments comprise the largest private investment in Mexico and, together, form a foundational pillar of the Sonora Plan that promotes clean energy development, investment, and economic prosperity for the region.

With three liquefaction trains commercially contracted, strong support from governments and capital markets, and key federal, state, and municipal permits in place across the LNG facility and the pipeline, Mexico Pacific is positioning the project for a positive final investment decision (FID).

We are advancing the global energy transition by providing LNG to facilitate coal-to-gas switching in Asia, promoting global energy security and leading the way to a closer, more sustainable future.

Our Commitment

Mexico Pacific is committed to delivering world-class infrastructure to strengthen global energy security, reduce emissions, and improve the lives of millions of people around the world.

North America’s Next Generation of LNG

Our anchor project, the 15 mtpa Saguaro Energía LNG export facility, is strategically located on the west coast of Mexico, in Puerto Libertad, Sonora, approximately 200 km south of the U.S. border.

Model for the right way to develop large-scale infrastructure in North America

Aligned with economic, environmental, and social priorities of Mexico such as:

  • conscious pipeline, terminal and shipping route design, avoiding population centers, indigenous communities, and environmentally protected areas;
  • long-term commitments to communities, with unprecedented social investments and robust environmental and social assessments already completed; and
  • skilled workforce development via training and apprenticeship programs.

An unparalleled location

Strategic site location provides:

  • access to abundant, low-cost U.S. natural gas in the nearby Permian Basin;
  • firm pipeline capacity with redundancy available across multiple alternate routes;
  • efficient shipping transit to Asia, avoiding the Panama Canal; and
  • a dedicated uncongested port free of high-risk weather events.
