The Government of the State of Chihuahua and Mexico Pacific announced today they have entered into a strategic collaboration agreement, attracting key financial investment in Chihuahua and supporting the construction and operation of Mexico Pacific’s Sierra Madre Pipeline.
The Sierra Madre Pipeline will originate at the border of the United States and Mexico transporting approximately 2.8 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of natural gas across the states of Chihuahua and Sonora to the company’s Saguaro Energía LNG facility on the West Coast in Puerto Libertad, Sonora.
The support of Governor Maru Campos, State and Municipal leaders, demonstrates the importance of Mexico Pacific’s investment in the State. Comprising a key part of the broader LNG project, the Sierra Madre Pipeline will bring employment opportunities, infrastructure development, community improvement, and economic growth to Chihuahua and the nation while positioning Mexico as the fourth-largest LNG exporting country worldwide, significantly contributing to global energy security.
Among the principal tenets of the agreement are the State’s commitment to support Mexico Pacific in areas of mutual interest relating to the construction and operation of pipeline infrastructure in Chihuahua. These include logistics, construction, technology, security, and community engagement.

As part of the agreement announced today, the Government of Chihuahua will continue to pave an efficient path for the commencement of construction of this historic project in the coming months, marking yet another significant milestone in the progression of energy infrastructure for the State.

Mexico Pacific y el Gobierno de Chihuahua anuncian un acuerdo de colaboración estratégica para el desarrollo de infraestructura energética

El Gobierno del Estado de Chihuahua y Mexico Pacific anunciaron el día de hoy la firma de un acuerdo de colaboración estratégica, atrayendo inversiones financieras clave en Chihuahua, y respaldando la construcción y operación del Gasoducto Sierra Madre, que desarrollará Mexico Pacific en el país.
El Gasoducto Sierra Madre se originará en la frontera de los Estados Unidos y México, transportando aproximadamente 2.8 mil millones de pies cúbicos diarios (Bcf/d) de gas natural, a través de los estados de Chihuahua y Sonora hasta las instalaciones de la Planta de Licuefacción Saguaro Energía, que desarrollará la compañía en Puerto Libertad, Sonora.
El apoyo de la gobernadora Maru Campos, así como el de líderes estatales y municipales, demuestra la importancia de la inversión de Mexico Pacific en el estado. Siendo una parte clave del proyecto integral de GNL, el Gasoducto Sierra Madre traerá oportunidades de empleo, desarrollo de infraestructura, mejora comunitaria y crecimiento económico para Chihuahua y el país en su conjunto, al tiempo que posicionará a México como el cuarto país exportador de GNL más grande del mundo, contribuyendo significativamente a la seguridad energética global.
Entre los principales principios del acuerdo se encuentra el compromiso del Estado de apoyar a Mexico Pacific en áreas de interés mutuo, relacionadas con la construcción y operación de infraestructura de gasoductos en Chihuahua. Estos incluyen logística, construcción, tecnología, seguridad y participación comunitaria.

Como parte del acuerdo anunciado hoy, el Gobierno de Chihuahua continuará allanando un camino eficiente para el inicio de la construcción de este proyecto en los próximos meses, marcando un hito fundamental en el desarrollo de infraestructura energética para el Estado.
