Sierra Madre Pipeline
The proposed 800-km, 48-in diameter Sierra Madre Pipeline will be the primary natural gas supply path for the transportation of up to 2.8 Bcf/d natural gas from the U.S. - Mexico border in the municipality of Guadalupe, Chihuahua. The pipeline will traverse 16 municipalities across the states of Chihuahua and Sonora, ending at the LNG facility in Puerto Libertad, Pitiquito, Sonora.
Safety is a Priority
Pipelines are a safe and efficient method of transporting energy resources. Mexico Pacific's pipeline team has safely overseen the construction and operation of thousands of miles of natural gas and natural gas liquids pipelines in Mexico over the past 25 years. Fostering a zero-incident safety culture is part of Mexico Pacific's safety commitment. This focus applies across the design, construction, and operation phases of the project. The Sierra Madre Pipeline will meet or exceed regulatory requirements and industry best practices, be monitored daily during construction and tested prior to being placed in service. Once operational, the pipeline will be monitored around the clock using sensors and fiber optic communications technology. The pipeline will undergo regular inspections to check for operational integrity.
