{"id":470,"date":"2023-12-04T22:46:15","date_gmt":"2023-12-05T04:46:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mexicopacific.com\/?p=470"},"modified":"2025-01-21T17:19:09","modified_gmt":"2025-01-21T23:19:09","slug":"mexico-pacific-and-woodside-sign-long-term-lng-sales-and-purchase-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mexicopacific.com\/esp\/mexico-pacific-and-woodside-sign-long-term-lng-sales-and-purchase-agreement\/","title":{"rendered":"Mexico Pacific and Woodside Sign Long-Term LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>December 5, 2023<\/strong> &#8211;\u00a0<span class=\"TrackChangeTextInsertion TrackedChange TrackChangeHoverSelectColorRed SCXW203142283 BCX9\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW203142283 BCX9\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun TrackChangeHoverSelectHighlightRed SCXW203142283 BCX9\">Mexico Pacific Limited (Mexico Pacific) and Woodside have signed a sales and purchase agreement (SPA) for 1.3 million <\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackChangeTextInsertion TrackedChange TrackChangeHoverSelectColorRed SCXW203142283 BCX9\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW203142283 BCX9\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed TrackChangeHoverSelectHighlightRed SCXW203142283 BCX9\">tonnes<\/span><\/span><\/span><span class=\"TrackChangeTextInsertion TrackedChange TrackChangeHoverSelectColorRed SCXW203142283 BCX9\"><span class=\"TextRun SCXW203142283 BCX9\" lang=\"EN-US\" xml:lang=\"EN-US\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun TrackChangeHoverSelectHighlightRed SCXW203142283 BCX9\"> per annum (Mtpa), equivalent to approximately 18 cargoes per year, of liquefied natural gas (LNG) for 20 years.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Under the SPA, Woodside will purchase the LNG on a free-on-board basis over a term of 20 years from the proposed third train of Mexico Pacific\u2019s Saguaro Energia LNG Project with pricing linked to US gas indices.\u00a0 The SPA is subject to Mexico Pacific taking a final investment decision (FID) on the proposed third train at the Saguaro Energia LNG Project which is expected in the first half of 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The Saguaro Energia LNG Project leverages low cost Permian Basin natural gas in the U.S. and a Pacific Basin facing liquefaction site to deliver more cost efficient LNG for supply into the world\u2019s largest LNG market, Asia without risk of the Panama Canal.<\/p>\n<p>Woodside CEO Meg O\u2019Neill said: \u201cAs we deliver on our strategy, we aim to complement Woodside\u2019s produced LNG supply with third parties\u2019 volumes, giving us greater scale and portfolio flexibility to serve our customers, while optimising our LNG trading activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis agreement with Mexico Pacific delivers a new source of LNG into our trading portfolio, expands our geographic diversification in the Pacific Basin and builds on our presence in Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Saguaro Energia LNG Project is located on Mexico\u2019s Pacific coast, providing proximity to key markets in Asia,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted to welcome Woodside, one of the most established global LNG market participants, as a foundation customer of Train 3, further validating the value of west coast Mexican LNG.\u201d said Sarah Bairstow, President of Mexico Pacific. \u201cWe look forward to continuing our collaborative relationship with Woodside to bring additional supply online to address critical energy security and energy transition needs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Mexico Pacific<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mexico Pacific\u2019s anchor project, the 15 Mtpa Saguaro Energia LNG Facility, is the most advanced LNG development project on the West Coast of North America.
